Design for a Weekend
Devils Invent is a series of engineering and design challenges. Participating students are encouraged to design, build, and implement innovative solutions to challenging problem statements submitted by community, industry and University partners.
Design for a Semester
The Engineering Projects in Community Service program, known as EPICS, is a national award-winning social entrepreneurship program. Teams design, build and deploy systems to solve engineering-based problems for charities, schools and other not-for-profit organizations over the course of a semester.
Design for a Year
InnovationSpace is a transformative experience, where students build the skills of the future and develop their capacity for collaboration and innovation as they produce extraordinary projects. Sign up for one of the diverse projects and work with clients, sponsors and team members from other schools in a brand new space at the Novus Innovation Center.
Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering offers multiple Design Experiences for students of all academic levels. Whether you are in your first year at Fulton or a graduate student, you will have opportunities to participate in a variety of activities and collaborate. This provides students earlier in their program perspectives from those who have completed internships or nearing graduation.
The Gear Box is one of our newest additions to the Fulton Design Experience. This space offers a wide variety of equipment for engineering students to check out and use for projects up to a semester at a time! This space is located in ECF 103 next to the 3D Print Lab, stop by soon to see what we have available!
Whether you are on campus or participating from afar, Fulton Design Experiences can support you. Our virtual events and workshops this past year have been hosted over Zoom and Discord and this coming Fall 2021 we are hoping to bring back in-person events such as Devils Invent. We have a series of labs (Generator Labs and E-Spaces) and student spaces (3D Print Lab and The Gear Box) throughout the engineering buildings designed to support student projects and events.
Utilizing different forms of media such as the Design Experiences website, Zoom, Discord, and Canvas, students can stay connected with one another, faculty, and staff for frequently asked questions and upcoming event information. Once we begin to host in-person events again we will offer suitable spaces throughout the engineering buildings with technology, equipment, and skill sessions for students to utilize.
